Those old worn out shoes

If those shoes could talk of where they've walked
Of where they went and where they parked
Stories within stories could be told for ever
It would be an eternal literary endeavor

John the baptist told Jesus that he was unworthy
Unworthy to unlatch the shoes on Jesus' feet
Behold the Lamb of God who comes in the Name of the Lord
Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world

Worn-out dusty shows lay on a pile near Jesus' clothes
He was stripped before they mocked Him with a "royal" robe
Shoeless he endured the mocking, suffering and pain
As he remembered the foot washing he recently gave

In the end when Jesus was finished with all He went through
There are stories within stories hidden in those old worn out shoes
