The Parade

Patriotic pride picks up for the parade
Thousands of people line the streets that day
Dozens of people ride and walk and march by
Handfuls of candy tossed make children smile

American flags freely fly boldly everywhere
This parade honors those who were there
Veterans who made it wave as they ride by
Children wave back and some ask why

The parade celebrates our Independence Day
We remember all who fought to keep it this way
Fireworks later is a symbol pf the war they were in
Their courage is deeply felt with every explosion

In the end we thank God that we're free
Free to worship Him in the parade....
                                                           patriotically!
