The Painful Past

Working every day and knowing the end of my job was near
Never appreciated by anyone except by those I hold dear
Facing crisis after crisis with determined resolve
I refused to give up!  I was always involved

Rejected and laid-off by misguided management
Hey They will reap where they've gone and where they went
It's just a matter of time before we all truly see:
I was just one more unfortunate jealous casualty

In the end I tried to warn them and make them understand
The way they are going is a dark and dangerous land
Yet I promised and I did my best every day and in every way
God knows and He was there through every trial and every pain

I'm not worried about the future because I know that The Lord will provide
It's the painful past that's passed:  my trust is in God and in Christ I'll abide

For Mr. Bill, a former co-worker.
