The Monster Within

Year after year you said you cared
Then you'd leave us again it's so unfair
Why did you lie so much to us then?
You disappeared and left us alone again

You would come back and for awhile everything seemed ok
But then the evil would start again and then you'd run away
What am I to you?  just a piece of dirt in the sandbox?
Why did you keep us? just so you could leave us?

Abandoned again
    Locked in a cold car while you went inside to sin
Abandoned again
    You'd say you loved us but you were just lyin' again
Abandoned again
    Our hatred for you grew as we shivered in the cold
Abandoned again
    I just patiently waited until later when I was old

            Freedom rings when responsibility wins
           The court has finally freed us from the monster within
