The kids go and have kids

Drifting....things go on the same as they've always been
Why, it's been this way since I can't remember when
Folks gettin' married and divorced kids go on their way
The kids go and have kids everything is the same

Life changes but people are still the same as they were before
Selfish idiots who just want more and more and more
Never satisfied almost like feeding coal to an old train
The kids go and have kids everything is the same

So many little ones who will love them and take care of them?
Sometimes I think having a kid you can't take care of is a sin
Neglected abused little ones standing out in the cold rain
The kids go and have kids everything is the same

   I gave up long ago trying to change those around me
   I just pray and ask the Lord to show me what He sees
