The Intercessor

Suddenly awake in the
middle of the night
The urgency to pray begins the long fight
Overwhelming emotions burden my soul
Interceding for an answer is my only goal
Groaning with words that
cannot be uttered
The Intercessor Himself has just started
The burden, the burden of taking the pain of another
Mourning, warning, groaning for my sister or my brother
Intercession is painful
praying right on the front line
The war for souls will continue until the end of time
Praying for others is almost always a thankless act
Yet responding to the need is the only way to react
When God's call to intercede comes your way: react
Because it literally could be a matter of
life and death

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not
what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession
for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
"And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because
he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:26-28
