The Hostile Witness

Standing on the street corner day and night
Getting right in people's faces passing by
Harassing, hostile not helping others with hope
Condemnation to hell screams what they already know

Full of anger it flows from him like a flood
Why all the hatred? Where is God's love?
Persistent protesting against sin and shame
The Hostile Witness fans his own flame

God's ways are not our ways says the Lord
His thoughts are not our thoughts, thank God!
When we take things into our own hands we get in the way
Every morning we need to let Jesus give us this day

Don't be a hostile witness because
                    God's word is a two-edged sword
It cuts both ways so be careful:
                    You've been warned
