So I Run

Every day I'm determined to discipline my attitude about my life:
how I treat my friends, my family, my co-workers and my wife--
all reflects on how I act as a Christian in every situation:
every decision weighs on how I work out my own salvation.

When I am with those who are weak, I share in their weakness,
for I want to bring the weak to Christ to be saved and blessed!
Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone I befriend,
doing everything I can to spread the Good News to save some!

I realize that when there is a footrace everyone runs to win!
but at the finish line the prize is only given to one!
Athletes run and run to win a prize that will fade away,
but we run for the eternal prize to be with Jesus, finally safe!

So I run with confidence and purpose in every step knowing the end:
I am not just shadowboxing, because in the end I will win, with Him!

reference: 1 Corinthians 9:22-27 (NLT)

22 When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. 23 I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.

24 Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. 26 So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. 27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
