I remember holding her in my arms
She was so helpless, precious and warm
Just another abandoned baby lookin' for love
Thank God for our precious gift from above

I remember when she finally slept through the night
I cried and thanked God as I looked at my wife
Just another foster child lookin' for some rest
I only want to do and give her our best

I remember her first precious day of school
I stood there cryin' and thanked God--feelin' like a fool
Just another adopted child lookin' for a friend
All in one day it's a beginning and it's an end
