Say Grace

Every so often our family would sit down and eat together
We would talk about our day at school or the weather
Mom would bring the last part of dinner in haste
Dad would bow his head and ask, "Let us say grace."

Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts which we are about
to receive from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

When you're in the valley, say grace
When you're on the mountaintop, say grace
When you're on the way down, say grace
When you're on the way up, say grace

In everything say grace
    For every day, say grace
For every little thing, say grace
For the breath of life, say grace

We went to camp that summer and we came home all excited
They taught us how to live like the Native Americans did
But that night when my dad finally gathered us in from the chase
We told our parents we learned a new way to sing and say grace:

Be present at our table, Lord,
    Be here and everywhere adored.
Thy people bless, and grant that we
May live eternally with Thee.  Amen.

When you're in the valley, say grace
When you're on the mountaintop, say grace
When you're on the way down, say grace
When you're on the way up, say grace

In everything say grace
    For every day, say grace
For every little thing, say grace
For the breath of life, say grace

Flash forward now we're grown and we have children
We'll tell them about how we grew up way back then
But most of all we'll tell them the wonderful story
Of how Jesus called us and changed us by his grace,
                                                       all for His glory!

Thanks, thanks, I give you thanks
    For all you've done
    I am so blessed
    My soul has found rest
Oh Lord, I give you thanks

When you're in the valley, say grace
When you're on the mountaintop, say grace
When you're on the way down, say grace
When you're on the way up, say grace

In everything say grace
    For every day, say grace
For every little thing, say grace
For the breath of life, say grace

    Say grace
                Say grace...
                            Say grace....

"See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good,
both among yourselves, and to all men.
"Rejoice evermore.
"Pray without ceasing.
"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
"Quench not the Spirit."

Psalm 84
[1] How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
[2] My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
[3] Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
[4] Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
[5] Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
[6] Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
[7] They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
[8] O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
[9] Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
[10] For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
[11] For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
[12] O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
