Prior to the Promise

The promises of God are powerful and true
What The Lord says is what He will do
You can count on Him and trust Him as Lord
He will not fail:  He always keeps His word

     Prior to the promise there's a trial
     Prior to the promise there's a mile
     Prior to the promise when you don't know what to do
     Prior to the promise faith helps you through
                                    yes faith helps you through

The promises of God are wonderful and great
Keep on walking and obey The Lord by faith
Remember that prior to the promise there's a test
Don't trust yourself--trust Him--He knows what's best!

     Prior to the promise there's a trial
     Prior to the promise there's a mile
     Prior to the promise when you don't know what to do
     Prior to the promise faith helps you through
                                    yes faith helps you through

In the end when you pass the test you'll realize this:
Jesus Christ not only gives the promise:
                      Jesus Christ is The Promise!
