New Year's Day

Simply starting over can be the hardest thing
Memories of yesterday can bring you down
                                         it can be almost anything
Images, sounds, even smells remind you of then
It takes you right back to where you've been

A new year, a new day dawning like the brightness of a promise
Sure those memories of people and pets and places you'll miss
But there's a time to live life the same and a time to move on
And there's a time to laugh and a time to sing a new song

Good memories will be made from this day forward
Simply tell the truth and always keep your word
Make this day and this year the best one ever
Live life for God: make Jesus your daily endeavor

Promises promise hope with spoken words
Not acting on them on them only makes thing worse
