Mrs. Langley's Faith Hey Randy, Click Here.
Handheld camera focuses on a smiling Mrs. Langley.
“Hi! I’m Mrs. Langley. I’m here today at Erving Elementary School with my First Grade class. Everyone say Good Morning!”
They joyfully shout in unison at the camera, “GOOD MORNING!”
Camera returns to Mrs. Langley.
“Today I’m going to ask a few of the students a question. Who wants to go first?”
Camera shows the eager students again.
“I do! I do!” “Rebecca, please come here.”
Camera follows little Rebecca as she walks toward the front of the class. Her white-blonde curly hair frames her red-cheeked face, almost like a hat.
“Rebecca, what is the reason for the Christmas season?” “My daddy taught us last night about the Menorah. It’s our mission to be a light unto the nations”. “And what does that mean to you?” “I need God’s eternal light in my life.” “And what do you have in your hand?”
Camera focuses on rolled-up piece of poster paper in Rebecca’s left hand.
“I made a drawing of our Menorah.” Rebecca unrolls the poster. The students react with awe. “Then I decided to paint it, too.” “Thank you Rebecca, that was WONderful.” “You’re welcome!”
Camera follows Rebecca.
Camera zooms out to show the class.
“I do! Me! Me!” “Jerome, please come here.”
Camera follows Jerome as he saunters to the front of the class with a smile. Dressed in traditional African robes, Jerome turns to the class.
“Jerome, what is the reason for the Christmas season?” “We celebrate Christmas at our house, but we also celebrate Kwanzaa.” “What is Kwanzaa? Please tell us.” Jerome matter-of-factly answers, “During the seven days after Christmas, we celebrate our African heritage and values.”
Jerome quickly returns to his seat. Camera follows.
“Thank you Jerome, I love your clothes.” Then Mrs. Langley asks the class, “Doesn’t he look great? So colorful.” “Yes! Yes!”
Camera pans back to Mrs. Langley.
“Okay…who’s next?”
Camera pans back to show the class.
“Me! I do! I do!” “Faith, please come here.”
Camera pans to Faith, still sitting at her desk, looking down.
“Faith, please don’t be shy. I know you can do it.” An amazing thing happens. Jerome starts chanting, “Faith! Faith! Faith!” Soon, the entire class joins him. Finally, Faith raises her head with tears in her eyes and smiles, stands up and walks toward the front of the class.
Camera follows Faith. Her pretty white princess dress flows around her like a soft winter wind gently blowing fresh-fallen snow.
The children cheer. “Thanks Faith. I knew you could do it!” “I’m so scared.” “Oh honey, you’ll be all right. If it helps you, look at me and ignore everyone else.” “But, it’s so hard—they’re staring at me.” “Okay, then make believe they’re all dolls.” That gets her. Faith starts giggling. “Okay—it’s okay now. Are you ready?” “Yes ma’am.” “Okay… Faith, what is the reason for the Christmas season?” “Jesus.” Mrs. Langley nods, approvingly. “Who is Jesus? Please tell us.” With her right index finger curling a lock of her long, red-brown hair, Faith sighs, and then answers, “Jesus is the reason for the season. For thousands of years, God’s people waited for a Savior to save them from their sins. Finally, two thousand years ago He was born in Bethlehem. He was just a baby--like my brother--but the people knew who He was.” “Who was He?” “Why were they wise?” “They knew they were worshipping God.” “Wow. Thank you Faith, that was great.” Mrs. Langley wipes tears from her eyes.
Camera follows Faith back to her seat, as the class applauds. Fade to black.

The scary thing is my wife was fired for posting this video. I guess Public School teachers can teach anything and everything BUT Jesus. It’s a sign of the times. Right is wrong…wrong is right. I thank God for providing me with the means to support my wife. She is now attending church and homeschooling our daughter. Faith is SO excited! I’m looking forward to our Bible Study tonight. God bless you. Tom
