Memories of 1525

Memories...of a trashed-out house, inside and out
    ...of garbage piled in every room:  there's-a-mouse!
    ...of several refrigerators lined-up in the basement
    ...of green carpet, green walls, green kitchen sink

Memories...of cleaning, painting, repairing 
    ...of finishing a major project every year
    ...of floors redone, re-carpeted, re-covered
    ...of bathrooms and the kitchen torn out and replaced

Memories...of tearing off siding and putting on new
    ...of adding a deck and replacing the 3 layer roof
    ...of the huge concrete truck pouring our new driveway
    ...of the many people who helped us along the way

Memories...of Ernie, Russ, Sandy, Mike, Steve & "Jesus", Tom, Red
    ...of babies crying, laughing and finally going to bed
    ...of little ones in day care here learning and playing
    ...of children who grew up praying in Jesus' Name

Memories....of Twiney our cat chasing a sponge ball
    ...of bringing in Spencer our dog to meet Twiney in the hall
    ...of Teddy our little dog who likes to stay warm
    ...of all the kids and pets who hid during the storm

Memories...of many prayers, travail and tears
    ...of many worries, waiting with hope and fears
    ...of the joy of adoption, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas
    ...of comforting hugs and the peace of a gentle kiss

God, I thank You for the memories of the home You gave us
We know Your timing to move is perfect, Father, "just because"
