Johnny the misfit

The bullies at school didn't like Johnny because he didn't fit in
So they teased him and pushed him down and called him a misfit
It didn't matter to them how Johnny felt as they beat him
He was just a simple misfit boy who wanted to win

Johnny you're just a misfit boy to them
They're just scared 'cause they don't understand
    You just want a friend
    You just want to win

Johnny walked and talked different from all the rest
The funny thing is he taught us all to give our best
Misfits don't click with the latest fad or fashion
They are God's gift to us to teach us compassion

Johnny you're just a misfit boy to them
They're just scared 'cause they don't understand
    You just want a friend
    You just want to win

One Sunday the bullies who beat Johnny showed up at church
They weren't so tough that day as they cried from the hurt
See their friends were all killed in crazy drunken car chase
Johnny cried with the bullies that day--he understood the pain--

Johnny you were just a misfit boy to them
They're not scared any more, now they understand
Johnny you just won a friend
    Yes Johnny you finally won

You won them to Jesus
