It was just one lie

It was just one lie
But then I had to tell another one to cover up that one
But then I had to tell another one to cover up those two
But then I had to tell another one to cover up those three

Soon I was lost and trapped by my own stupid lies
I forgot what I told the first time
It was just one lie
How could it grow so big to touch the sky?

It was just one lie
But then I had to tell another one to cover up that one
But then I had to tell another one to cover up those two
But then I had to tell another one to cover up those three

It's scary being lost in the maze of lies
All I wanted was to find the truth and smile
Finally I knelt down and told the truth and prayed
And thank God in heaven he listened and heard

It was just one lie
But then I had to tell another one to cover up that one
But then I had to tell another one to cover up those two
But then I had to tell another one to cover up those three

Don't get caught lost again because you wanted to lie
It's not worth your eternal soul, so tell the truth:
Don't be a fool, be wise.
