Independence Day

Driven like cattle satan and sin was our master
Always demanding more and more and faster and faster
Trouble was our best friend and worry was there too
Depression and Anger always told us what to do

But thank God we're born again
No longer bound by satan and sin
Independent now we can freely choose
Righteousness we win or sin we lose

Remember this?
Wide-eyed awake in the middle of the night
Who can sleep when Trouble and Anger rule your life
Checking the clock every ten minutes or so
Wondering "Should I stay in bed....or get up and go?"

But thank God we're born again
No longer bound by satan and sin
Independent now we can freely choose
Righteousness we win or sin we lose

When I look at my life today
All I can think of...all I can pray
Is ...thank You Jesus for choosing me to be saved:
With You I celebrate my Independence Day!

Thank You Jesus I'm born again
No longer bound by satan and sin
Independent now I can freely choose
Righteousness I win or sin I lose

Freedom brings its own burden on our choose-ability:
With each Independence Day comes great responsibility.

Every day.
