I'm not His buddy, I'm His Bride!

My buddy calls and invites me over to see the game,
And every time my buddy stops by it's always the same--
We're just chummy pals who spend time together--
We're just as superficial as talking about the weather

I call my wife and ask her out to dinner alone:
We need to get away from everything at home!
We're always the best of friends together--
Every year our relationship gets deeper

Every morning I call on my Jesus in precious prayer--
I love Jesus so very much--just knowing He's there--
We're espoused and some day we'll be together forever:
Every year our Relationship gets deeper

Jesus is my Groom and my Friend--His Spirit lives inside--
I love to say, "I'm not just His buddy, I'm His bride!"

Revelation 19:6-8 (New Living Translation)

6 Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or
the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder:

   “Praise the Lord!
For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice,
and let us give honor to him.
For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb,
and his bride has prepared herself.
8 She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.”
For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people.
