I do care.

You might ask me a question unprepared
And I might quickly answer "I don't care"
But later when I think about what I said 
I should have answered this way instead

   I do care and I want to make a difference 
   I do care simply because you're my friend
   I will stop and listen to all you have to say
   Your love matters to me right now today

I might make a decision in haste one day
And I might say "I don't care" and brush it away
But later when I think about what I said

Finally when I say "I don't care" --
   I really don't mean it that way
I just need to start saying "I do care" --
   Because I really feel that way
