Hope for the Future

I raised my kids and they went their separate ways
Lots of lonely nights and long waiting days
I wish my kids would remember me sometimes
I know they are are all busy it's no surprise

I watch the news but it's all so sad
I watch the weather  it's usually bad
I watch the shopping channels they're all the same
I watch the clock click by and by I'm to blame

Being bored again is just a desperate state of mind
If some company showed up to eat I wouldn't mind!
It seems to me I'm living today but always in the past
Another day's gone by:  this boring day too shall pass

My grandchildren are great and give me hope for the future
There's one thing I've learned is that nothing's for sure
