FLYING SOLO

Flying solo, alone at the controls
Home alone again tonight with my son
There's so much work that needs to be done
and he just wants to run and have fun
Is all this really worth it?
        God only knows

Oh I just wish sometimes things could have
        worked out different
And I just wish I could be a better parent
But what am I saying? this only makes sense:
I'm his mother and his father
        Sometimes I'm even his brother!

I just wish I had more time
        More time to take time
        More time to tell him
        More time to show him
        More time to love him

Flying solo, alone at the controls
God's the only one who knows

In the end I know we're both better off this way
I know and I hope and I pray:
I know I'm thankful for him today
