Dark Disdain

Filled with emotional scars, the past passed powerful pain,
Sanctimonious sarcasm trapped his heart with dark disdain.
Nobody nowhere no-how could tell him what to do or where to go,
He did what he felt like when he felt like it, and never slowed

One day he crossed the line into crime and never got caught,
Laughing and mocking God he did it again without a second thought.
Crime led to more crimes--more vile, vicious, violent and vulgar:
It seemed that this man filled with selfish sarcasm had no hope

Bloodied and beaten after a fight with his filthy, foul "friends",
He barely crawled to his car and drove away after they left him for dead.
He didn't get far and passed out in the "rest area" on the side of the road:
And God in His mercy sent someone who ministered to the man, and sowed hope

That good Samaritan reached out with God's love and showed him a better way,
And now that lost same man is preaching the good news of Jesus every day!
