Bookends

What if New Year's Day and New Year's Eve were bookends?
What if each month was a book?
Each week was a chapter?
Each day was a paragraph?
Each hour was a sentence?
Each moment was a word?

How would your books read?
How would they be titled?
Would they be something others would want to see?
Would your books be filled with guilt and shame?
With prayer and fasting? with God's love and grace?
With living and teaching God's Word?
With working by faith for The Lord?

Would reading your books be a slothful waste of time
                from the land of lukewarm?
Would reading your books be those that even Jesus
                couldn't put down?  well done!

At the end of another year, we write
    one last book,
        one last chapter,
            one last paragraph,
                one last sentence and
one last word:  it all makes sense--
In the New Year start the first new book with Jesus:
choose to be a part of His Book of Life ...why?
        because we have His Word:
We know how His book ends.
