Bitterness

Sarcasm and cynicism wrap you and trap you like
grave clothes
All those "whatever" feelings come from being hard-nosed
The root of bitterness has taken hold deep down in your soul
Like a weed it will kill your testimony if you just let it grow
Repent! get down on your knees and cry,
and sob, and weep
The tears will break up the ground around the bitterness so deep
After you pour it all out, take out that bitter plant and be free!
Take it to the Holy Ghost fire and burn it in the holy heat
Let all bitterness be put away from you with
all malice
And be kind to one another: now it's your choice
Be tenderhearted and forgive each other: be nice
Even as God for Christ's sake as forgiven you:
remember He paid the price
Holding on to hatred only causes you heartache, headaches and great pain
Remember your first love, and do the
first works, just after you were born again
Sweet.

Ephesians 4
[29] Let no corrupt
communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of
edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
[30] And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto
the day of redemption.
[31] Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil
speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
[32] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another,
even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
