Abandoned
Pregnant she couldn't bear to abort her son
She had nowhere to go, no place to run
Embarrassed she stayed home alone in her room
She stayed there day after day until her son was due
After he was born she really couldn't take care
of him
Sobbing she wrapped him up and abandoned him
She rang the doorbell of that church nearby and ran
She collapsed in the park in the playground sand
Exhausted, spent, her energy almost gone
She whispered a prayer to the One True God
Forgiveness came in loving wave after wave
Deep down she new both her and her son would be saved
A humble dedicated church lady opened the door
She almost stumbled over the tiny bundle by her foot
O-my-God she thought as she picked him up
She took the child in and gave him God's love
The church lady knew she couldn't keep him long
As she called a sister-in-the-Lord she softly sang a song
"Jesus You're the Answer for the world today
Beside You there's no other Jesus You're The Way...."
The phone rang once then twice and then again
She was about to hang it up and suddenly then
"Hello" it was her good friend from church!
God answered her prayer: it was only the first
They met by the corner drugstore that sunny day
Right there on the street the ladies made a great trade
When the tiny infant was given to the other good lady
She shed more tears as she held that beautiful baby
"O God I almost can't believe what you've
done
You know I've prayed so long and so hard for a son
Thank You Jesus Thank You Lord so much, so much
O God I almost can't believe You're awesome love!"
A month later she dedicated her new son the Lord
Every visitor that day was filled with the Holy Ghost!
One of the young visitors walked up to the lady weeping
That baby peacefully glowed like an angel: he was sleeping
"I know you don't know me but you won't
believe what God has done
I am the real mother of your new baby, your new little son..."
She fell to her knees and lifted her hands, sobbing and thanking
God
"Thank You Jesus! Thank You for saving me and my little son!"
+ + +
Laughing, chasing, the little boy played in the sand in the park that day
His foster church mom looked on as
she listened to his real mom say
"I ran to the place and right
over there, before I passed out I prayed
And Jesus answered my
prayer! Thank You Jesus we're saved!"
