Get the church ready!  I'm gettin' ready for church!

For months and years I drove by that church on the corner--
My problems just got bigger and bigger as I got older--
I don't how or why but I knew that if I just went inside,
I'd get the help I so desperately needed for my life--

       Get the church ready!
       I'm gettin' ready for church!
       I'm just one of many--
       But I'm just the first!

I met the Pastor one day because I needed to explain why,
I was ashamed because I made such a mess of my life--
Days later on a Sunday morning I was so excited I called him,
God had forgiven me and gave me a brand new vision!

       Get the church ready!
       I'm gettin' ready for church!
       I'm just one of many--
       But I'm just the first!

Pastor called my name and had me testify about how Jesus called me first,
And I told the story, and I got so excited again and said--

       Get the church ready!
       I'm gettin' ready for church!
       I'm just one of many--
       But I'm just the first!

       Get the church ready!
       I'm gettin' ready for church!
       I'm just one of many--
       But I'm just the first!

John 6
[43] Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
[44] No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
[45] It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
[46] Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
[47] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
[48] I am that bread of life.
