What's in a name?

What's in a Name? Does it matter to be
saved?
Why are you afraid? Jesus said I AM the Way!
...There is none other name under heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved!
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name--
(Why? for the remission of your sins!)
Show me why the powerful Name of Jesus is "not
necessary"--
Show me why would Peter stand up and preach it that way!
Show me anywhere in God's Word where people took on the titles--
(Father, Son and Holy Ghost)--
They were baptized in the Name of Jesus--
preached and believed that way before we had Bibles!
Jesus is the Name above all Names--now!
At the Name of Jesus every knee shall bow--
Do you see it? Do you see the reason for His Name?
Thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their
sins--
What's in a Name? Everything! Be careful
how you name your kids and what you sing:
Jesus is the Name of the One, True, Living God--Jesus is my savior: You
are my King!

Colossians 2
[6] As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in
him:
[7] Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have
been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
[8] Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit,
after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after
Christ.
[9] For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Acts 4
[10] Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by
the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised
from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
[11] This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is
become the head of the corner.
[12] Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Philippians 2
[9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name
which is above every name:
[10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in
heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
[11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to
the glory of God the Father.
Revelation 1
[1] The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to
shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and
signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
[2] Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus
Christ, and of all things that he saw.
[3] Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this
prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at
hand.
Acts 2
[37] Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said
unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of
you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall
receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that
are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
[40] And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save
yourselves from this untoward generation.
John 14
[1] Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe
also in me.
[2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I
would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again,
and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
[4] And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
[5] Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest;
and how can we know the way?
[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[7] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and
from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Luke 13
[1] There were present at that season some that told him of the
Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
[2] And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these
Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered
such things?
[3] I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all
likewise perish.
[4] Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and
slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in
Jerusalem?
[5] I tell you, Nay: but, except ye
repent, ye shall all likewise perish. |
