The Essay

Going over essays one night, the teacher
began to cry
Her neighbor asked her, "What's wrong?", and she told her why
"I asked the children today to write
an essay about someone in need...
"This one is titled, 'My Daddy'...." and she began to read
My daddy is the best
daddy anyone could ever ask for. He's all I need.
He's there when I'm scared. He listens to me any time when I
need to
talk to him. He gives me wisdom to help me with my
homework. He
gives me gifts. He will never, ever leave me. But, most
of all, He
loves me. . . and I love him. He's awesome.
"That's where I was confused,
because you know her dad passed away last year..."
The teacher picked up the paper again and read the rest of the story in tears
But, I know what
you're thinking: my real daddy is dead. I have a new Daddy
now. My Father in heaven, and He's right here, too, in
my heart. His Name is
Jesus. Through every test and every situation He
comforts me and He
guides me. Thank You Jesus for being my best daddy, for
ever! Oh, and
one more thing: please Daddy, comfort my mommy, she
needs You now
more than ever. Amen.
Her hands shaking, the teacher set down
the paper, crying, then weeping
She hoped she wouldn't wake her daughter, the author of the paper, who was
sleeping
Something changed in the heart of the
teacher that night and she was over the worst
She determined the next morning to go with her daughter to church
At the end of the church service, the Pastor invited everyone to the
altar
There the teacher bowed before the great Master and Teacher, Jesus:
she decided to follow
Running and leaping and praising God the
teacher's daughter was so happy!
"Why are you so happy?" the neighbor asked. "My mommy finally met
my Daddy!"
