The Porpoise-Driven Life

Livin' here in the harbor is a real rough life:
We get to fishin' in season both day and night--
Sometimes the storms come and smash overboard--
I guess anything's better than ice and snow

We drive our nets into the water to get it all,
Funny thing is we get fishes both big and small--
Sometimes we catch porpoises in our big nets;
One day somethin' happened it was hard to forget:

A pregnant porpoise was caught in the net,
And I jumped in and moved the net to free it--
The captain saw me and turned this into my job--
I just lift my eyes to the sky and thank my God!

I'm just livin' the porpoise-driven life
Savin' the porpoise is my purpose both day and night
--both day and night--
