Just Be Ready

The ground rolls, rumbling
through the city like a wave
Panicked people scatter as glass shatters and buildings sway
One by one, the older buildings start to crumble and fall
Shocked people stand staring upward, completely in awe
How could there by an earthquake here? some wonder as they run
We were supposed to be in a safe zone, shouts another one
Cars and trucks and buses are useless because of all of the debris
Dust clouds are everywhere making it just too hard to see
As the massive earthquake crescendos to an all-time record level,
I could hear Weeping and screaming... then the ringing of a church bell
It was like hope in the midst of a crazy, hopeless situation
And those who survived prayed to God for help from across the nation
Suddenly, your life can change: be ready--remember to always watch and
pray--
It could be an accident, a heart attack, a stroke, a tornado, a hurricane or an
earthquake...
Just be ready.
