I Miss You Dad

For months I watched you languish, suffering in
such great pain;
To watch such a gentle soul go that way--it's so hard to explain--
I prayed and waited on God and visited you as much as I could:
I hold on and "know that all things work together for good..."
As I look at the Christmas decorations or hear that special song,
A childhood memory flashes me back and the grief storm comes:
I try to hold back the tears but I can't help it, I'm bawling--
"I miss you dad, I really miss you..."
I find myself crawling...
A gentle voice speaks to me and tells me please don't cry, don't cry...
I look up to see my daughter comforting me with compassion in her eyes--
Then more memories and thankfulness flood my soul with another wave,
As I hug my daughter and together we're enveloped in God's embrace...
My WONderful wife then walks in and joins us in a familiar family hug--
Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father above,
will be with us in truth and love...
In truth and love...
In truth...
and love...
and love....
"Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place
I can feel His mighty power and His grace
I can hear the brush of angels wings
I see glory on each face
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place..."
