Halloween is hollow and weak

Look right, look left, look out--here and there--
It's that time time of the year--they're everywhere!
Thousands of children pour out into the streets:
It's trick-or-treat time--it's Halloween

Look right, look left, look out--here and there--
It's that time time of the year--they're everywhere!
Thousands of college students pour out into the streets:
It's 'FreakFest' time--it's Halloween

Look right, look left, look out--here and there--
It's that time time of the year--they're everywhere!
Thousands of parents pour out into the streets:
It's protection time--it's Halloween

Wave after wave of people seeking something sweet:
Not all is as it appears--"Be careful who you meet--"
Evil people with evil intentions stalk the streets;
So my child, "Watch where you go, watch what you eat--"

Wait a minute--STOP--why are we doing this at all?
"What's the big deal? it's for the kids..." both the small and the tall
"We've been doing this for generations..." going here, and going there
"It's nothing to worry about, just a little fun, just a little scare..."

In the end the 'celebration' of Halloween is not what it seems:
Its roots are in the love of making money:  it is hollow, and weak
