Father's Day 2006

1970s...Driving for hours "out west" on vacation
Restless, bored kids bring frustration
Stopping at places to learn some history
All of our questions added to the mystery
Flash-forward to 2006 in the year of our Lord
Now the grandchildren travel and they look bored
Heading out on vacation or the latest Feis
When you look at them you know you're blessed
Your love for us and for them is plain to see
Your gentle spirit reaches and gives so free
Thank you dad for always being there for us
Thank you dad for your faith, hope and trust
Smile this Father's Day knowing you're fighting the good fight
And laugh! it sounds good, it feels good, it feels just right
