Deadline

Pressures mount and stress of life screams;
Situations appear in prayers and in dreams;
Emotions roller coaster spinning in my mind:
When will peace return?  I don't have time!

Opposing forces rise up and attack, attack;
And in my own power I try to fight back;
Negative thoughts surge like a tornado:
Why is this happening?  I just don't know!

My attitude snaps at my family and friends;
Condescension consumes me in selfishness;
I have so much to do and a deadline to meet:
Go away!  Why do little things annoy me?

After the big rush is over and the meaningless deadline is met--
I see the victims of my attitude and I am filled with regret,

and repent.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 (KJV)
