Allegory

Living in this maniacal material world as a Christian,
Always knowing there is a better place in the world to come:
Finding my way in the dark is way too hard alone,
So I'm walking every day in the Light of the World

The core of my story is I'm living in an allegory:
This world is not my home--I'm a citizen of glory!
I'm going forward down the only narrow road:
I'm looking forward to eternity with You, Lord!

Getting more and more material things for me
Means less and less time to witness and teach--
All caught up in the care of "this and that"
Causes me to lose sight of what's important

The core of my story is I'm living in an allegory:
This world is not my home--I'm a citizen of glory!
I'm going forward down the only narrow road:
I'm looking forward to eternity with You, Lord!

In the end I realize these material things are all vanity:
It's time to tell others Jesus is the only way to The City

New Jerusalem.
