Michael

Bagpipes bewailingly blend as they play "Amazing Grace" in our church--
Overwhelmed by the moment I start sobbing like I did at first--
Flashback memories of my Michael before he went into "the service",
And now he's gone--he's not coming back--he's no longer with us
Remember when
We'd make pancakes with smiley faces?
Remember when
You would beg us to go to "Chucky
'Cheese's'"?
Remember when
We'd laugh and sing on the way to church?
Remember when
We comforted you when you were so hurt?
Pastor, why does it hurt so much? Michael, we miss you so much--
I thank God for our Pastor and his tender words of love and hugs--
We celebrate because Michael is now gone to a better place,
And some day we will see him again and look upon his face
Remember when
We'd make pancakes with smiley faces?
Remember when
You would beg us to go to "Chucky
'Cheese's'"?
Remember when
We'd laugh and sing on the way to church?
Remember when
We comforted you when you were so hurt?
Thank you Jesus for the time we had with Michael while he was here--
As the bagpipes end their sad song, I smile because You are so near
