BetterSweet

Hey, I used to be better, I used to be sweet--
But as life went on, bitterness robbed my sleep;
I tossed and turned and fought the ill feelings;
Night after night just left my heart reeling

Like a virus, bitterness spread into my life;
Sweetness was beginning to give up the fight:
I couldn't help myself and spread the ill news:
Mean-spirited gossip is all I chose to do

Then one night it all came back to bite me real bad:
A bitter-filled 'friend' talked about me and made me sad;
Then like a revelation from heaven I saw myself too:
Walking in bitterness is not what a Christian should do

I won't be bitter, but will be better with everyone I meet:
I will gain so much more in Christ by being BetterSweet

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:31-32 (King James Version)
